The New York Giants 2024 schedule was released on Wednesday night. New York looks to rebound from a disappointing 2023 season that saw them go 6-11. Quarterback Daniel Jones was limited to six games following a Torn ACL he suffered in October of 2023. The team lost a key member of their offense during the 2024 NFL Offseason when Running Back Saquon Barkley signed with the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles. With the No. 6 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected LSU Wide Receiver Malik Nabers.
In addition to their six games against NFC East opponents, New York faces the AFC North and NFC South in addition to the third-place teams from the NFC North (Minnesota Vikings) and AFC South (Indianapolis Colts).

— New York Giants (@Giants) May 16, 2024
Week 1: vs. Minnesota Vikings– It is unclear at this time who the Vikings will start in the opening game of the season, whether it be veteran Quarterback Sam Darnold or No. 1o overall pick J.J. McCarthy. Regardless of who is under center, New York will start the season off 0-1.
Week 2: @Washington Commanders– The New York Giants have won three straight games against their divisional rivals dating back to the 2022 season. This streak will become four following a week two win on the road.
Week 3: @Cleveland Browns- Cleveland had one of the best defenses in the league last season, and with a healthy Deshaun Watson, the Browns will notch a convincing victory.
Week 4: vs. Dallas Cowboys– The Cowboys had a disappointing NFL Offseason, but are still one of the best teams in the NFC. New York has been dominated by “America’s Team” as of late, losers of six straight. That streak will become seven once this Thursday night game concludes.
Week 5: @Seattle Seahawks– The New York Giants get 10 days off before flying across the country into one of the toughest atmospheres in professional football. Seattle had a disappointing 2023 after making the NFL Playoffs in 2022 but will defeat New York for the third consecutive season.
Week 6: vs. Cincinnati Bengals– Assuming Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow is healthy, something which has been a question in recent years, Cincinnati will go on the road and defeat “Big Blue.”
Week 7: vs. Philadelphia Eagles– This will be the first time that Barkley will get to face his former team and he will come out motivated. New York defeated the Eagles in week 18 of the 2023 regular season, and Philly will exact revenge as they look to rebound from a total collapse to end last season.
Week 8: @Pittsburgh Steelers– Pittsburgh enters this season with lofty expectations and a new quarterback under center. A solid Steelers defense is one of the safest bets in the National Football League as the New York Giants offense will fail to muster much of a fight.
Week 9: vs. Washington Commanders- After defeating the Commanders on the road in week 2, Washington will exact revenge by defeating the Giants at home in MetLife Stadium.
Week 10: vs. Carolina Panthers– Two of the worst teams in the league take their talents, or lack thereof, overseas to Munich, Germany. As one of the few games the New York Giants will be favored in all season, the Giants return to the United States with their second victory of the season.
Week 12: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- The Giants will have a few weeks to enjoy their victory as they have a bye week following their Munich game. Tampa Bay was one of the most surprising teams in the league last season and should be just as good, if not better, in 2024. The Buccaneers will win this game on the road.
Week 13: @Dallas Cowboys- This game will take place on Thanksgiving Day in front of a raucous crowd full of turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. New York will lose their second game of the season against the Cowboys.
Week 14: vs. New Orleans Saints- New Orleans will once again be a force in an improving NFC South division. The Saints will walk out of the “Garden State” with a win.
Week 15: vs. Baltimore Ravens– The Ravens made it to the AFC Championship Game last season and should be a Super Bowl contender again in 2024. New York’s defense will have no answer for reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Giants offense will struggle to move the ball against the Baltimore defense.
Week 16: @Atlanta Falcons-Atlanta had a befuddling offseason as they signed Quarterback Kirk Cousins to a massive contract, but also drafted Michael Penix Jr. No. 8 overall just a few weeks later. It is unclear who will be under center when the Giants come to visit in week 16, but it will not make a difference. Atlanta will defeat the New York Giants handily.
Week 17: vs. Indianapolis Colts- New York will have lost five straight games by the time the Colts come galloping into town. The weather is going to be bitterly cold and the players will be looking forward to the offseason. Indianapolis will still be in the playoff picture by week 17, and will not allow their postseason hopes to be derailed by a hapless Giants squad.
Week 18: vs. Philadelphia Eagles: The New York Giants will head to Philadelphia lamenting what was another lost season. Fortunately for New York, the Eagles will have already locked up playoff seeding by this time and will not put forth their best effort. Another disappointing season will end with a victory against the Eagles in week 18.
Final Thoughts
The New York Giants will go 3-14 during the 2024 NFL season. It is plausible that Head Coach Brian Daboll will be fired midseason, but it is a virtual certainty he will not be the coach of the team next season. After another terrible season, and another high draft pick, questions will swirl regarding Daniel Jones’ future with the team. The patience of Giants fans will be tested once again as 2024 is not shaping up to be a promising year.
