Massive Setback: Punjab Kings’ Woes Continue as Kagiso Rabada Ruled Out of IPL 2024

Kagiso Rabada

The Punjab Kings shared that before the match in Guwahati on Tuesday, the assistant coach of the Punjab Kings, Brad Haddin, delivered sobering news to the team and its followers. Kagiso Rabada, the South African bowling superstar, has been excluded from the rest of the IPL 2024 season because of his injury. The team is made weaker even more after this setback, which in turn leaves the PBKS’ already struggling squad with a bigger problem.

Kagiso Rabada’s Departure

The absence of Kagiso Rabada, who is well-known for his fast pace and wicket-taking capacity, is a huge disadvantage to PBKS‘ bowling arm. His talent in giving the most important breakthroughs in the death overs will be deeply missed as the team looks for a way to raise some pride in the remaining matches.

Topping the list of PBKS’ troubles, Liam Livingstone, the English all-rounder who left India early to treat his knee problem and prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024, has gone. Livingstone’s going away not only deprives PBKS of a good player but also makes the franchise number one in the field of competition.

Pride to Play For

Since PBKS is already out of the playoffs, their remaining matches are a chance to restore some of their appearance. Nevertheless, the absence of the main players, such as Kagiso Rabada and Livingstone, makes their fate more certain of finishing the tournament negatively.

The assistant coach, Brad Haddin, stressed the fact that the team should be looking for suitable replacements for the players who are leaving. The disqualification of Kagiso Rabada and Livingstone provides chances for the other members of the squad to display their skills and be part of the team’s growth.

A Season of Struggles

Kagiso Rabada

During the whole season, the Punjab Kings have struggled with a lack of consistency and have not been able to utilize their home advantage. The injuries of the main players, such as the captain, Shikhar Dhawan, have added to the problems, which made it difficult to find a perfect combination on the field.

PBKS is also facing the problem of Sam Curran, the stand-in captain, joining the England squad for the T20I series against Pakistan. The subsequent T20 World Cup followed Wednesday’s game against the Rajasthan Royals. The loss of Curran is another blow to PBKS, which makes them already weak for their last league game. So they barely have any resources to use.

In this difficult situation without Kagiso Rabada, the Punjab Kings will have to unite each other and give their best in the remaining matches to save what they can from a tough IPL season.
