The 2024 ICC team rankings in cricket show a big difference between the previous and current rankings, with Australia jumping to first place among the top ten nations in the Men’s Test team rankings. On this, they build a string of their unprecedented vindication as the winners of the ICC World Test Championship first in the Oval, after finishing the Test series with an emphatic win by a margin of 209 runs.
The Australia squad commanded by Pat Cummins has ascended to an impressive rating of 124 points and moved ahead of India to take over the top spot.

Australia (the current champions of the International Cricket Council‘s (ICC) World Test Championship) continues to climb over India’s ranking and come on top of the ICC men’s team Test rankings.
In the latest edition, the ICC revised its honor index, launching Steve Smith into the top of the 5-day cricket.
From a rivalry point of view, Australia started their portrayal with a 209-run win against the Indian team at the Oval last year. The massive victory justifies their ability to kick off the championship with an unbeaten record.

What’s more, Australia emitted a lulling result as they squeezed 124 position brackets to the detriment of their rivals, India, which was second with 120 points, only once holding the title of Test Champs before that. Lastly, Scotland is still in the tenth spot with 11 places, having an important score margin over the team in the third spot.
The relocation of the two students to the number one position is the only change made this time, as seen in the updated rankings list. The next two years, May 2021 and May 2023, carry 50 percent weighting, but the subsequent 12 months, including Australia’s World Test Championship, which occurred last year, will be given full weighting.
India has traded their order of first rank in Test cricket for the current position of No. 1 in the white-ball competitions. They are credited with a boost in the lead of six rating points in ODI cricket over Australia. The ban of a sports entity hardly comes easy, and although South Africa has a four-point difference with Australia, Pakistan and New Zealand still trail behind them.
The progress of a team such as Sri Lanka (who are right now ranked as the seventh team and only two rating points behind England) is particularly impressive to watch. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the West Indies complete the lineup of the next 10.
In the T20I, India firmly occupies the top spot with 264 points, but they have a margin of just seven points that is now stolen by Australia, who are now number two, pushing England one point downwards. The most significant rise in fourth place has been accomplished by South Africa.
