I look forward to the crowd helping us because we’re going to need them.”
The fans of a football club are always said to be the twelfth player on the pitch, with the noise from the home support aimed at urging and supporting the home team, while weighing on the away team.
Emma Hayes, the six-time FA Women’s Super League winner, is looking to tap into this to help her team push beyond Barcelona to the final of the Champions League.

The six-time FA WSL Manager of the Season winner and one-time The Best FIFA Football Coach winner will vacate her position as Chelsea Women’s head coach at the end of the 2023/24 season after being at the helm since 2012. She will then begin a new adventure as the next head coach of the United States women’s national team.
While in the Chelsea Women’s dugout, she led the club to six WSL titles and five Women’s FA Cup titles. They finished the 2020-21 UEFA Women’s Champions League season as runners-up to Barcelona in a 4-0 defeat.
The trophy seems to be the last remaining feather to her illustrious cap and this looks like the moment to get it.
