Real Madrid’s late winner against Barcelona triggered a lot of reactions from both teams.
The 257th El Classico was an end-to-end encounter. Barca came into the game with the hopes of restoring their winning morale. Five days earlier, they had experienced a disheartening loss at home to PSG.
Real Madrid on the other end, yearned to maintain their pride at home, while keeping their winning form. Additionally, a win for them would edge them closer to winning the La Liga.
The game was filled with a lot of drama. It took a last-minute goal to decide the winner.
A 92nd-minute goal from Jude Bellingham created an ecstatic celebration from the Los Blancos side. Jubilation erupted from every corner of the Bernabeu. But to everyone’s surprise, Coach Carlo Ancelotti responded to the goal differently.
Real Madrid Triumphs Over Barcelona in El Classico
Los Blancos started the game a bit slow. This gave the Blaugrana the edge with an early goal from Andres Christensen.
A nice corner was whipped into the area. Lunin timed his clearance wrongly, allowing Christensen a clear header into the goal.
Soon Real Madrid got the equalizer. Lucas Vasquez made a tricky run into the Barca box, creating chaos amidst their defense. Cubarsi lunged for a tackle but fouled Vasquez instead. A penalty was given to Real Madrid, and Vinicius put it in the net.
A lot of end-to-end moments came and went, but another breakthrough came in the second half.
Lamine Yamal’s shot rebounded off Lunin into the path of Fermin Lopez, who gave Barca the lead again.
But it wasn’t over yet. A cross from Vinicius Jr met an unmarked Vasquez who smashed in the equalizer.
The game looked to be over until the 92nd minute. Another cross this time from Vasquez strayed into the area of Bellingham who fired home the winner.
Real Madrid fans erupted in joy after the winning goal. The goal was similar to the winning goal against Bellingham in the reverse fixture last year.

The veteran coach was calm and collected amidst all the chaos after the goal. He showed signs of happiness but in a composed manner. Despite the intense celebration from the Real Madrid fans and players, the Italian maintained his cool-headedness.
Carlo Ancelotti has been known to be calm in late or important victories from his team. Notwithstanding, he always shows his happiness during the post-match celebrations.

The Italian expressed his happiness about the game on Twitter and when he was interviewed.
He spoke on Twitter that the win created an unforgettable week for them. He spoke about the intriguing quarter-final game they won against Man City.
Also in the press conference, he stated that the win was a big step for Real Madrid toward winning La Liga. However, he also noted that they needed to pick up more points so they could focus on the UCL semi-final.
He was also full of praise for Bellingham and Vasquez. The Italian Coach hailed them for their efforts, hard work, and exceptional display of talent.
More Hurdles Ahead for Los Blancos
Real Madrid will continue their journey to winning the La Liga on the road. They’ll be visiting Real Sociedad on Friday.
Although they are 11 points clear of Barcelona, they only need a few more wins to secure the league.
