Ramiz Raja’s Analysis And Disappointment of Pakistan vs. New Zealand T20I Encounter

Pakistan’s 7-wicket defeat against New Zealand in the 3rd T20I at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi city was a pure letdown. The former cricketer Ramiz Raja expressed his discontent, emphasizing the absence of prolonged innings by the ‘Men in Green’ batters.

Addressing his audience on his official YouTube channel, Raja articulated that established batsmen should refrain from succumbing to dismissal after amassing a mere 20 to 30 runs.

Reflecting on the conditions at Rawalpindi, he contended that the pitch had the potential to yield a total of at least 250 runs.

Moreover, the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board criticized the lackluster bowling display exhibited by the hosts against New Zealand. Deeming it “mediocre.” He singled out Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi for their lackluster performances against the Kiwis.

Providing an overview of the encounter, following their triumph in the coin toss, the Kiwis opted to field first against the hosts. A decision that ultimately favored them in the match. Saim Ayub and skipper Babar Azam commenced the innings for the ‘Men in Green’ with a 55-run partnership.

Shadab Khan emerged as the standout performer with the bat for the hosts. He showed his prowess by dispatching 4 fours and 2 lofted strokes during his stint at the crease. Aside from Shadab, Irfan Khan made a valiant effort, contributing significantly to Pakistan’s final tally of 178/4.

Leading the Kiwi bowling attack, Ish Sodhi orchestrated the proceedings admirably. He claimed two scalps in his four overs while conceding 25 runs. Meanwhile,  Bracewell and Jacob Duffy also chipped in with one wicket apiece during their respective spells.

Dean Foxcroft and Mark Chapman orchestrated a formidable 117-run alliance to propel New Zealand to a resounding 7-wicket victory in Rawalpindi. Pakistan’s bowling contingent displayed a lackadaisical performance in the encounter, with Afridi and Shah accounting for the solitary wickets of the match.

The ongoing five-match series is deadlocked at 1-1 following one victory apiece for both Pakistan and New Zealand.
