For the first time since 2013, the New York Knicks have clinched a top-two seed in the Eastern Conference. Brunson was the driving force behind a great regular season in the “Big Apple.” Brunson and the Knicks went to the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the first time since 2013 last season, but are looking to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.

New York will face in the first round the winner of the NBA Play-In game between the seventh and eighth seed. The Miami Heat visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday for an opportunity to face the Knicks in a series that begins on Saturday at Madison Square Garden. The Heat defeated in the Knicks in six games last year in the conference semifinals.

Jalen Brunson will have the expectations of a franchise with decades of playoff shortcomings on his shoulders once the NBA Playoffs tipoff. Only time will tell if he will be able to live up to it.
