The San Francisco Dons are going to be without one of the starting members of their backcourt from last season. Sophomore Mike Sharavjamts has just entered the transfer portal and will be looking for a new home for the 2024-25 season.
“Mongolian Mike” as his fans called him, is the first Mongolian citizen to earn a Division 1 scholarship. He had a short stay in San Francisco and just played there one season.

Mike Sharavjamts was a 4-star recruit coming into college two seasons ago. He spent his freshman year at Dayton before transferring to San Francisco. He’s 6 foot 7, has pretty good handles, and has one of the prettiest pull-up midrange shots you will see. I was able to see San Francisco play about a dozen times in person this past season, and it’s tough for the Dons to lose Mike, as he has a lot of promise. This past season he averaged 7..7 points 3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game on an explosive San Francisco Dons team.
This is the 2nd San Francisco Dons player to enter the transfer this offseason as forward Stefan Todorovic put his name in the portal in late March. The Dons have to hope this isn’t a domino that causes a complete roster turnover. I personally don’t see that happening especially with coach Chris Gerlufsen coming back next season. San Francisco Dons basketball is on the rise.
Where will Sharavjamts Transfer to?
Mike Sharavjamts has had quite a journey over the last few years. Born in Mongolia, Sharavjamts came to the United States and played high school basketball at ISA Academy in Ohio. From there, Sharavjamts accepted a scholarship to play basketball in nearby Dayton for the Flyers. After one season with the Flyers, Sharavjamts then transferred across the country to play for the San Francisco Dons. Now, Mike is on the move again.
I’m curious to see if he wants to stay nearby or if he just wants to go to a bigger program where he will still get playing time. He’s a talented kid and he will bring a whole fanbase wherever he goes. From being at so many San Francisco home games last season, I can tell you that there was no other player that got the crowd louder from making a shot than Sharavjamts. Selfishly, I hope he stays on the West Coast, but my best bet is that he wants to move to a power conference. But one where he is able to start in the backcourt like he was with the San Francisco Dons.
