The 8-times Ballon d’or winner Leo Messi has achieved every milestone to be at the no 1 position in world football. However, due to his age, Messi’s techniques and abilities are rusting off. His current club Inter Miami cannot take a breakthrough from losing back-to-back matches. Messi was even asked if he would consider retiring soon.
Messi’s Statement About his Retirement
Messi recently gave an interview with the Big Time Podcast, where he even discussed his plans for the future. “I know that the moment I feel that I am no longer performing, that I am no longer enjoying it or helping my teammates. (I will retire),”
“I am very self-critical. I know when I am doing well when I am not when I play well, and when I play poorly. When I feel it’s time to take that step, I will do it without thinking about age”.
“If I feel good, I will try to continue competing because it’s what I like and what I know how to do.”
Messi Was Even Asked What He Wanted To Do Next
“I haven’t thought about it yet. For now, I try to enjoy each day, each moment, without thinking about the future. I don’t have anything clear yet,” Messi said.
“I hope to keep playing for a while longer because that’s what I enjoy. When the time comes, I will surely find the path to what fulfills me and what I like and a new role.”

What’s Next for Messi?
Messi who played for FC Barcelona for 17 years, and also played for PSG for two seasons. Had a rough job handling a club like Inter Miami. Despite, winning the World Cup in 2022 for Argentina winning 8 Ballon d’or and achieving almost everything Messi’s next step is unwritten by his fate.
His big morale is getting down as his Asian fans hate him for not being present for a big match a few days ago. Messi’s even pulled out his hamstring which is a bit rare to watch. Therefore, he missed his two fixtures for Argentina so he could rest.
His presence for Argentina still relies all the fate on him. He made a big impact by winning 3 International Cups for his country and more to come.
