NBC is set to air the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony live in IMAX theaters throughout the United States for the time. The grand event will take place on the River Seine, where athletes from over 200 nations will embark on boats gliding past Paris famous landmarks.

IMAX is gearing up to showcase the broadcast at over 150 venues nationwide providing viewers with a theater experience. Equally important, this is anticipated to be a moment in history the ceremony boasts a distinctive ambiance and breathtaking visuals.
Olympic Hosts; Mike Tirico, Kelly Clarkson, and Peyton Manning
Hosting NBCUniversals coverage of the Opening Ceremony alongside Mike Tirico are Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning. Lastly, this marks the commencement of 16 days filled with prowess in Paris, a city in Olympic heritage.
“We are excited to extend NBC’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony to IMAX theatres across the U.S. ” stated Gary Zenkel, President of NBC Olympics. Furthermore, Rich Gelfond, CEO of IMAX expressed excitement about expanding NBCs broadcast of the Opening Ceremony to IMAX theaters.
Athlete’s Prepare in Paris
In Paris, athletes will vie against each other against the backdrop of one of Earth’s cities. This will be Paris’ third time hosting the Olympics matching London for hosting Summer Games. Los Angeles is poised to join them when it hosts the Summer Games in 2028. Moreover, Coco Gauff is the top one of four tennis players who are confirmed for the Paris Olympics.
Undoubtedly, NBCUniversal is set to air the Paris Olympics on the NBC channel and Peacock streaming platform. The network holds the broadcasting rights for the Olympics in the United States until 2032 with events planned for Milan Cortina in 2026, Los Angeles in 2028, and Brisbane in 2032. The location for the 2030 Winter Games is yet to receive a decision.
