Oh yes! Scott Hanson is one of the most beloved figures in all of sports media, more specifically, the NFL. His catchphrase is echoed by many every time he shouts “Seven hours of commercial-free football!” once the NFL RedZone programming begins. Now, the Paris Olympics will have ‘Gold Zone’, hosted by Hanson himself!
The RedZone format is a wonderful thing. It allows you to keep track of all the happenings around the league without missing a beat. Sports like soccer have also implemented this type of show lately, especially in European competitions. Do you know which sporting event would also be heavily favored?
Paris Olympics Gold Zone
It was reported that Peacock would implement this style of coverage for the upcoming Olympics in Paris. The show will air from 7a.m to 5p.m E.T every day. This show will be called Gold Zone and it will span from July 27th to August 10th.
This is a huge announcement for Olympic fans since Peacock will air all 329 medal events in Paris. This way, you won’t have to change channels like crazy looking for your favorite competition to see who won medals. You can just put Gold Zone on, sit, crack a beer (hopefully later than 10a.m but who am I to judge?), and enjoy one of the sport’s most coveted competitions.
Scott Hanson Won’t Be Alone on Gold Zone
Hanson is the reason we can stay in the loop with everything that happens every Sunday during the NFL season. However, he does that gig for 18 days a year, once every week. Having to do the job on a daily basis would be absolutely exhausting.
That’s why Hanson will be surrounded by other figures to keep the program fresh and fluent. Hanson will open the Gold Zone programming on the Olympics. Once his shift ends, Andrew Siciliano will enter the fray as he is in charge of the middle part of the stream. Then, he’ll pass the torch (see what I did there?) to the American Ninja Warrior co-hosts duo, Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila.
This promises to be a dynamic, fun way of keeping in touch with all things Olympics.
How To Watch Gold Zone?
As previously mentioned, Peacock is the one running this show. Hence, to watch it, you need to be a Peacock subscriber. The subscription is $5.99 + tax /month, or $59.99 + tax/year. Additionally, Gold Zone will also be available on the official website, NBCSports.com, and the NBC Sports app by way of “TV Everywhere”. The latter applies to customers with paid TV subscriptions.
