NBA player Otto Porter Jr. has decided to retire after 11 seasons. The American has commented on the real reason why he has decided to retire at the age of 31.
The former player commented that he has had physical problems since arriving at Toronto Raptors. Let’s remember that Porter Jr. has played with different teams and only with Golden State Warriors he won the championship. However, after that victory, he joined the Toronto Raptors and then the Jazz, but the latter team recently canceled his contract.
Otto Porter Jr. commented in an interview the real reason why he is leaving. “Unfortunately, my body does not allow me to play at the level I expect, and therefore. I have decided to retire”.
Otto Porter Jr.’s dream
A native of Missouri, the player started college with Georgetown. In his senior year, he was named first-team consensus first-team All-America and player of the year. He was then selected All-Big East.
Otto Porter started in the NBA with the Washington Wizards, then joined the Chicago Bulls. He then decided to go to the Orlando Magic and then to the Golden State Warriors, where he won the championship. Then it was the Toronto Raptors and lastly, he was going to play with the Utah Jazz.
The former player competed in 527 games in his career. He averaged 10.3 points on 47.7 percent shooting. Also, 39.7 percent of the three-pointers and 4.9 rebounds were made.
Otto Porter Jr.: 2022 Season
For Otto Porter Jr, his best season was the 2022 season with the Golden State Warriors. They won the championship by defeating the Boston Celtics, where Otto played a major role in the playoffs. This allowed him to win a ring.
Over his entire career, Otto Porter Jr. has earned $140 million, which is equal to an average of 13 seasons. Only the player has achieved this in 11 seasons.
Otto Porter Jr. had played only 23 games since signing with the Torontos. This was due to a discoloration in a finger, and so he went to a chiropractor. This caused the former player to miss the entire 22-23 season. He also did not play with the Utah Jazz team, and that is why his contract was canceled.
