Marc Marquez continued dominating Aragon GP, leading FP3 and FP4 practice sessions and improving the track record in the second session. Earlier he had divulged before the weekend, that an ideal weekend for him would be one where he could challenge fellow riders like Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin.
Marquez admitted he was comfortable with his performance credits to the good track surface which he knew suited him. It could be seen that the track was a little slippery and this appeared to have a bad effect on other riders compared to Miguel. Nevertheless, the initial pace setter does not count his chickens before they are hatched and understands that Friday is only the start of the race weekend.
Understanding the Competition
Marc Marquez knows that Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin, who have been quite a handful in the past races, will improve in the week. Both riders have improved from the morning to the afternoon practice and Marquez expects them to be the main challengers in subsequent races. Marc Marquez’s strong performance at Aragon builds on the good feeling he had with his bike in Austria. He is satisfied with this bike’s settings and a good time. But he knows that Friday’s results are just the start and there’s still a lot of work to do.

Marc Marquez highlighted the importance of Saturday’s qualifying session, which he believes will be crucial for the weekend’s outcome. Starting from the front row could significantly impact his chances in the race, he stated;
Tomorrow there will be an important qualifying that will be the key of the weekend, as always it’s the most important practice, and if we cans tart on the front row everything is possible.
Another important factor Marc Marquez pointed out is the track conditions at MotorLand Aragon. The track’s new surface is evolving and understanding these changes will be crucial, Marc mentioned;
The key of the weekend will be understanding the track conditions, he said. It’s improving every time. This morning we were riding in one way, this afternoon we started to change a bit the setup and especially the riding style to another way. So, with this will be the most important point.
He had a good start on Friday placing him right where he wants to be, though he understands that such performance is crucial during the qualifiers and the race as well.
In Conclusion
Leger’s Friday practice at Aragon MotoGP unlocks Marc Marquez for a chance at the weekend race wins. This is where he has set the fastest lap time in both sessions and broke the lap record at Catalunya to show he is in excellent shape to beat his rivals like Francesco Bagnaia, and Jorge Martin. Although he has caught up with them, he does not let his guard down because he knows his competitors are capable of improving a great deal.
The emphasis will be made upon the qualification part from now on, as the driver considers this as being essential for a race weekend. Further, the changeful conditions of the track in MotorLand pose a challenge to him and will also serve as a factor of challenge. But if he keeps up the good work and adapts well to these changes then he could be in for a great performance in the later races.
