Stellar outlining of Jorge Martin’s upcoming race weekend is going down at Aragon GP, where Pramac Racing’s man wants to change his Sunday curse. Even though he has performed impressively throughout the season, Martin agrees that getting off the duck at Aragon will not be easy given that he has had a poor run at the Spanish track.
Jorge Martin’s Struggles at Aragon
Jorge Martin has been in good standing this season, and he is one of the winners of the Grand Prix and is usually among the top racers of MotoGP. But, unfortunately, the Aragon track could not be friendly to him as has been seen several times in the past. He has never won a MotoGP race at Aragon, and he is one of the few riders on the grid never to have achieved this feat.
His stiff competition is limited but includes Francesco Bagnaia. In the premier class, he has scored his season’s best at the venue placing sixth this year. The only past success that Jorge Martin achieved at Aragon was in the year 2018 when he was riding for the Moto3 championship.
Heading into the Aragon GP, Jorge Martin is well aware of the upcoming challenges and stated;
It’s been a long time since my last Sunday win, and Aragon is a tough place for me, Martin admitted. The other top riders have won here in MotoGP, but I haven’t. I’m hoping to change that this weekend.
Jorge Martin and Bagnaia have a unique championship fight that goes to the final round in which Bagnaia enjoys a five-point advantage. For now, Bagnaia seems to be in amazing form, especially from the Austrian GP that produced both the sprint and main race winners. Jorge Martin finally recognizes Bagnaia’s endowments and enhancements in recent rounds.
Areas for Improvement

Jorge Martin does not pinpoint exactly where he needs to close the gap, however, it must be said that one of Bagnaia’s strongest assets has been his first-turn qualifying speed, particularly when fueling up fully for a race. This was especially seen in Austria, where Bagnaia’s early race pace saw him clinch the victory. He clearly understands that if he wants to compete with Bagnaia for the championship, he must elevate his performance during the final phases of the race.

Still, he believes he can at least reduce the GAP and can make the championship race extend to the remainder of the season races.
In Conclusion
Jorge Martin faces a tough challenge at the Aragon Grand Prix due to his winless streak, the pressure, and the need to earn as many points as possible. Bagnaia has been very strong this season while the Aragon circuit poses different difficulties; that means that Martin has to find something special in him to get a win and move closer to the contested championship.
