Arne Slot had his reaction on Liverpool’s opponents in the Champions League. The draw was made on Friday evening in Monaco. And Liverpool were given eight European teams to play against, four at home and four away.
Liverpool is expected to return to the UEFA Champions League. Last season Merseyside failed to participate due to their failure to secure the Top 4 spot in the season before. However Liverpool was much rejuvenated last season, and even contested for the league title, however, they finished third behind Arsenal. Liverpool has been given some tough and interesting fixtures and Arne Slot has given his assessment of it.

The Reds will face Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille, and Bologna at home in Anfield in the new Champions League format.
Additionally, their remaining four away trips will be against RB Leipzig, AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven, and Girona. Liverpool will be hoping to secure a spot between first and eighth to guarantee themselves direct qualifications to the round of 16. However, anything beyond eighth will mean automatic playoffs. A rank below 24th will mean total elimination from the tournament. Arne Slot will desire his team to be in the top eighth, as they prepare for the tournament.
Arne Slot’s Reaction to the Draw
Immediately after the draw was wrapped up, Arne Slot spoke to Liverpoolfc.com. The Dutchman said: “The first thing to say is it is a very challenging draw but also a very exciting one and more important than anything, we are part of it – which means there is a lot to look forward to and also a lot of work to be done.
He continued to talk about their difficult fixture against Real Madrid. And he said: “There will be a lot of focus on the fixture against Real Madrid at Anfield, and rightly so because they are the holders of the competition, but at the same time there is so much quality among our other opponents that we will spread our attention evenly and take each game as it comes.
Arne Slot on Other Teams
He also spoke about teams he had faced before. He said: “PSV are a team I know well, of course, and – like Bayer Leverkusen – they are champions of their own country, so the standard is very clear and it runs through all of the clubs that we will face. I could talk about each of them and what they will bring but the time to do that is when the fixtures come around.”
He rounded up talking about the other competition lying in wait for them. He added: “For now, we will look forward and, as I said, keep working because there are a lot of games to come in the Premier League and the Champions League, and the only way to approach them is one at a time.”
