Cristiano Ronaldo’s football career is gradually approaching its twilight. The 39-year-old Portuguese forward maintains that he still has much to contribute both to his club, Al Nassr, and to his national team, which suggests he plans to extend his playing days further. As he begins to think about life beyond his playing career, many are speculating whether his future might involve taking on a coaching role.

Cristiano Ronaldo had a few statements to pass on regarding what the future holds. He expressed his desire to play for Al Nassr and possibly retire in the yellow jersey itself.  With the new season underway, Al Nassr is determined to challenge the reigning champions, Al Hilal, who are led by Neymar Jr. Despite his advancing years and storied career, Ronaldo remains a key figure in the game and is eager to capture his first trophy in Saudi Arabia, where he is approaching the milestone of 900 career goals.

After a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign with Portugal, there was considerable speculation about Ronaldo potentially stepping away from the national team. However, it seems he remains committed to his international career. In a recent interview with the Portuguese channel NOW, Ronaldo expressed: “When I leave the national team, I won’t give anyone advance notice; it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also one that is well thought out.”

Ronaldo made the move to Asia after receiving an irresistible multimillion-dollar offer, following a highly successful European career with elite clubs such as Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United. The promise of stability and the anticipated growth of the Saudi league played a significant role in his decision to sign with Al Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo also mentioned his future position when it comes to club football, he said “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years… but probably I will retire at Al Nassr”, says Cristiano Ronaldo. “I’m very happy at this club, I feel good in this country too, I love playing in Saudi Arabia. I want to continue”.

As Cristiano Ronaldo’s career, decorated with numerous individual and team accolades, nears its end, he is looking for redemption in Saudi Arabia. There is speculation that his retirement could come sooner rather than later, not because of any physical decline but due to his age and the desire to continue competing at the highest level.

Ronaldo on his Future as a Manager

Amidst continued speculation about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future after he retires from professional football, many have speculated that he might return to the sport in a coaching capacity.

In response to these speculations, Ronaldo commented: “At the moment, the idea of becoming a head coach or taking on any coaching role is not something I am considering. I haven’t thought about it; it’s not something that has crossed my mind.”

“I don’t see my future going in that direction. I see myself doing other things outside of football, but only God knows what the future holds,” he added. Cristiano Ronaldo has recently kicked it off with his new YouTube channel. He has been breaking records off the pitch as well and he leaves behind the likes of Drake, Alan Walker, and many more in terms of subscribers.
