The mighty Liverpool is looking forward to signing a new Georgian goalkeeper from Valencia, Giorgio Mamardashvili. The Georgian shot-stopper is expected to be at his club on loan. However, Giorgio is expected to join Liverpool in the 2025-26 season. The agreement between Liverpool and Valencia will be sealed for a 35 million plus sell-on clause, which is yet to be completed within the next 24 hours.
Alisson’s contract will expire next year, until then Mamardashvili will sign for Liverpool next year. Mamardashvili’s Valencia run has been sorrowful as they finished ninth last season. Despite his best effort they failed to finish above fifth position. Although Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper run has been fantastic and inspiring, winning lots of trophies for the Reds, including the Champions League and the Premier League, has made him one of the underdogs.
However, due to his injuries, Liverpool’s backup Goalkeeper Caomhim Kelleher took charge and did his best part by securing a few trophies under Liverpool’s trophy cabinet. Mamardashvili has yet to play in the Premier League. Due to its high intensity of pressure, it’s not strange to say there would be a delightful atmosphere. Alisson’s main attributes which make him special are how he dictates his defenders and his long passes to his attackers make the game even more straightforward. He made several passes to Salah in counterattacking situations where he managed to irritate the opposition.
Alisson played 28 matches last season where he ate 30 goals, and had 1.07 percentage of getting against the goal per 90 minutes. He made a total of 80 saves, with a 73.4 save ratio with 8 clean sheets and a 28.6 clean sheet ratio. He even managed to get injured where Kelleher took place and provided consistency for his team.
On the other hand, Mamardashvili has played 37 matches, ate 41 goals, and had a 1.12 percentage against the goal per 90 minutes. He made 103 saves with a 73.8 save percentage 13 clean sheets and having 35.1 clean sheet percentage.
