2025 NFL Mock Draft Picks 1-10 Version 1.0

Travis Hunter NFL Draft
I wanted to watch some games before my first 2025 NFL Mock Draft. I needed to see how the prospects were fairing so far in 2024 and also how NFL teams were looking this season. Things will change before April, but this is where I see the top 10 as of now.

Jaguars Add a Playmaker

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Travis Hunter CB/WR Colorado. The Jaguars have been a disaster so far this season. They just committed to quarterback Trevor Lawrence long-term so we go with the best player on the board in Hunter. I think they start Hunter out as a corner but have certain packages for him on offense. The Jaguars love their athletes and Hunter is one of the best athletes in the country.
  1. Tennessee Titans – Shedeur Sanders QB Colorado. If the draft falls like this, Deion Sanders will get his wish to have his son and Hunter drafted in the top 4. The Titans desperately need offensive line help but they can get that on day 2. Current QB Will Levis has not worked out. It’s time to draft his replacement.
  1. Cincinnati Bengals – Mason Graham DT, Michigan. The Bengals have a talented roster, and I don’t expect them to pick this high. But for now, we get them some defensive help. The Bengals lost DJ Reader in free agency and have not replaced him. They are currently 26th in run defense and Graham can rush the passer and play the run.
  1. New York Giants – Carson Beck QB Georgia. It’s obvious at this point that Daniel Jones is not the long-term answer at quarterback. While I think there are better players on the board, the Giants need an upgrade over Jones. Beck can sit behind Jones for a year and then take over as the starter in 2026.
  1. Indianapolis Colts –  Will Johnson CB Michigan. The Colts needed to improve their pass defense heading into the 2024 draft. They upgraded the pass rush by taking Laiatu Latu out of UCLA. Now they add the best pure cover corner in the country in Johnson.

Patriots Fill a Need

  1. New England Patriots – Kelvin Banks Jr OT Texas. The Patriots have arguably the worst group of offensive tackles in the NFL. After drafting quarterback Drake Maye in last year’s draft, they need to get him some protection. Banks is off to an impressive start this season and can start at left tackle from day one.
  1. Cleveland Browns – Tetairoa McMillan WR Arizona. DeShaun Watson has not worked out the way the Browns hoped. While QB is likely their biggest need, I think they give him a weapon on offense. McMillan’s combination of size and after-the-catch ability make him a nightmare for opposing defenses.
  1. Carolina Panthers – Quinn Ewers QB Texas. To say quarterback Bryce Young has not worked out is the understatement of the century. After watching veteran Andy Dalton have success with the same group of players on offense, it’s clear they need a massive upgrade. The Panthers should re-sign Dalton and let him mentor Ewers next season.
  1. Miami Dolphins – James Pearce Jr EDGE Tennessee. This would be a steal for the Dolphins. I believe Pearce will go higher than this, but I could not find a team for him in the top 8 of this mock draft. Even though the Dolphins took edge rusher Chop Robinson in the first round last season, Pearce is just too good a talent to pass up.
  1. Chicago Bears – Will Campbell OT LSU. This was the easiest pick of this mock draft. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is running for his life this season. The Bears invested in weapons for him this past off-season but ignored the offensive line. Campbell can become a franchise left tackle.

Final Mock Draft Thoughts

So there you have it, my Mock Draft 1.0. There are three other prospects worth mentioning for which I could not find a place. Malachi Starks out of Georgia is the best safety prospect in the country. He can play deep or in the box. Wide Receiver Luther Burden from Missouri is as dynamic as any countrywide wideout with the ball in his hands. Finally, Abdul Carter is an explosive but somewhat raw edge rusher from Penn State. He could move into the top 10 if he continues to improve. The draft is seven months away, and I cannot wait.
