2025 NFL Draft: Midseason Mock Draft

Michigan-Ohio State look to follow up the greatest football game ever played.

The 2025 NFL Draft order has a logjam at the top. Nine teams sit with two wins at the midseason mark. We could see a lot of jockeying for positions in the coming months. For now, we take the order as it stands now. Onto the mock draft!

New England Patriots: Travis Hunter CB Colorado

The Patriots need some offensive line help desperately. However, they cannot pass up a chance for Travis Hunter in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is a game-changing player and has the versatility to be used in offensive and defensive packages. There will be quality offensive linemen later in the draft. There won’t be another Travis Hunter.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Will Johnson CB Michigan

We haven’t gotten to see Johnson showcase the true nature of his talents thanks to injury. However, make no mistake, he is a quality corner who many had as the top player in the 2025 NFL Draft before the season. Jacksonville has some quality offensive pieces, albeit ones that need to improve. Their pass defense has been atriocious ranking near the bottom of the league.

New Orleans Saints: Cam Ward QB Miami

I know Derek Carr has a huge cap hit that makes him impossible to move on from. For the sake of their own fans, it would be best to trot out someone else under center. When a team has this high of a pick and does not have a clear future at quarterback on the roster, it seems irresponsible not to take a chance on a top prospect.

Carolina Panthers: Quinn Ewers QB Texas

I almost didn’t give Carolina a quarterback in this mock draft. I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Bryce Young needs to have a good performance against someone other than the Saints, who just fired their head coach. If Young is salvageable, this pick becomes very interesting. For now, they grab Ewers out of Texas.

Cleveland Browns: Kelvin Banks Jr. OT Texas

Many people have Cleveland grabbing a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. I have them going a different route. They’ll patch something together and look to upgrade elsewhere. No matter who is under center, an elite offensive tackle is necessary. Banks has looked strong this year for Texas and will get a chance to show off down the stretch for the Longhorns.

Las Vegas Raiders: Shedeur Sanders QB Colorado

The Raiders need a quarterback, like a fish needs water. Last year, they finished with a good enough record to be out of the quarterback sweepstakes. That won’t be the case this year. In this mock draft, I have them taking the third quarterback off the board, but at season’s end, they might get their pick of the crop.

New York Giants: Carson Beck QB Georgia

How many more chances will Daniel Jones get? The crazy thing about the Giants is their team isn’t bad outside of the quarterback position. Malik Nabers is a budding star. The defensive line led by Dexter Lawrence is wreaking havoc on opposing offenses. They’ve been in a lot of games. They have to fix the quarterback position. Beck is getting a bad rep, thanks to some subpar performances. Make no mistake, he is still a quality prospect.

Miami Dolphins: Mason Graham DL Michigan

The Dolphins have some interesting decisions in the 2025 NFL Draft. It will depend on where they end up but the Tua Tagovailoa situation will be the talk of the offseason especially if the former top five pick gets injured again. However, they badly need some beef on the defensive line. Graham is a force in the middle and makes the loss of Christian Wilkins this past offseason sting a little less.

Tennessee Titans: Tetairoa McMillan WR Arizona

The Titans need to figure out the quarterback position. If they continue to lose and get a higher pick, they should look to move on from Will Levis. However, I don’t think they should reach here. The next best right now is likely Jalen Milroe. Like Levis, the Titans might be able to wait and still get him in the second round. After trading DeAndre Hopkins, the Titans need a dynamic wide receiver. McMillan has all the tools to become a force in the NFL.

New York Jets: Malaki Starks S Georgia

What the Jets do in the 2025 NFL Draft likely depends on what happens with Aaron Rodgers. If the 40-year-old decides to call it a career, they might look to get a quarterback. However, let’s assume he stays and/or New York is picking too high. Injuries have ravaged the safety room and are a big part of why the defense has not been as dominant in 2024. Starks is the top safety in the draft and could easily become a day-one starter.

Dallas Cowboys: Ashton Jeanty RB Boise State

Another week. Another mock draft of me putting Ashton Jeanty on the Dallas Cowboys. You’ve heard me talk about this one, so let me take this angle. This pick becomes interesting if the Cowboys keep losing. Do they try to move on from Dak Prescott and take a young quarterback? Do they take a top wide receiver to pair with Lamb? Rebuild their offensive line? Take a top defensive tackle? Trade the pick for a haul? There are so many possibilities that would actually make sense. The schedule is not kind to Dallas in the short term and with Prescott out, this season could get ugly real fast.

Indianapolis Colts: Benjamin Morrison CB Notre Dame

The Colts are in a weird spot. They are rebuilding but also decided to bench Anthony Richardson for Joe Flacco to win now. This team is like trying to figure out what the Joker is going to do in The Dark Knight. They’re just a dog chasing cars with no real purpose right now. The defense seems to be the biggest area of need. Morrison can become a lockdown corner in the NFL and the Colts need one badly.

Cincinnati Bengals: Jack Sawyer Edge Ohio State

Trey Hendrickson has been fabulous this season. Some are putting him in the lead for the Defensive Player of the Year award. That won’t stop them from looking at the edge rusher position in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hendrickson is no spring chicken, and having two high-quality pass rushers never hurts. Sawyer has been a menace in the Big Ten this season and will be another in the long line of Buckeye edges to go in the first round.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Will Campbell OT LSU

The Bucs are caught in the middle. They have a good enough roster to compete in games but not good enough to be competing for Super Bowls. Baker Mayfield is locked in for at least another year. When he has protection and all his weapons, this offense is lethal. They have the weapons but adding a top-tier tackle would help them utilize the weapons.

Seattle Seahawks: Tyler Booker OG Alabama

The Seahawks just gave up seven sacks against the Los Angeles Rams. Many of those sacks came from the middle of the defense. Geno Smith is constantly under pressure. Some will criticize picking an offensive guard this early, but Booker is a beast in the middle of the line. Furthermore, if it keeps the quarterback from getting sacked seven times, it’s probably worth it.

Los Angeles Rams: Denzel Burke CB Ohio State

After four weeks, the Rams were left for dead. I was mocking them for taking a quarterback a few weeks ago. They have risen thanks to Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua returning from injury. Rookie Jared Verse has been the best defensive rookie by far. Where they need help is at corner. Burke has had a strong year for the Buckeyes. The defense has had to stop teams when the offense fails to put up huge points.

San Francisco 49ers: Wyatt Milum OT West Virginia

The San Francisco 49ers offseason discussion will be centered around Brock Purdy. Will he get a new contract? Probably but in the 2025 NFL Draft, the team tries to find protection for the long term. Trent Williams isn’t getting any younger. Milum is raw but has the talent and versatility to play anywhere on the line. Furthermore, he is reliable and has started 31 straight games. This will be a huge benefit to San Francisco after this year.

Chicago Bears: Cam Williams OT Texas

The offensive line has been an issue for the Bears this season. In the last three games, defenses have been able to create lots of negative plays.

  • Six sacks, five tackles for loss
  • Three sacks, five tackles for loss
  • Three sacks, three tackles for loss

Averaging four sacks a game is not a recipe for winning football. Chicago should focus on the offensive line in the 2025 NFL Draft. We will never figure out if Caleb Williams can be an NFL superstar if he is constantly on his back.

Denver Broncos: Emeka Egbuka WR Ohio State

Denver has been a bit of a surprise this season. While the advanced stats on Bo Nix haven’t been stellar, all that matters is the score at the end. This team has won games with great defense and good enough offense. One thing that would help would be a great receiver. Egbuka hasn’t had a huge year, but he is one of the best receivers in the class.

Arizona Cardinals: Princely Umanmielen Edge Ole Miss

The Cardinals have focused on their offense in the last two drafts. They have made savvy trades that have helped their team be one of the surprises of the 2024 season. In the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s time to shift to the defense. They need a dynamic player on the line to create havoc. Umanmielen has been fun to watch this season and can be a difference make on day one.

Los Angeles Chargers: Colston Loveland TE Michigan

I don’t think Jim Harbaugh will be able to resist taking a Michigan player in the 2025 NFL Draft. He knows the players well. What makes the rebuild in Los Angeles different than most is they have an elite quarterback. Ladd McConkey is shaping up to be a good receiver and even Quentin Johnston has shown signs of life. Loveland gives the Chargers a run-blocking and pass-catching tight end.

Atlanta Falcons: James Pearch Jr. Edge Tennessee

The Falcons traded for Matthew Judon late in the offseason hoping he could jump start an anemic pass rush. That has not happened. Atlanta is boasting one of the worst pressure rates in all of football. Pearce has been a big part of a suffocating Tennessee defense. If the Falcons are going to keep their Super Bowl hopes continuing, they need to pressure the quarterback.

Green Bay Packers: Shavon Revel Jr. CB East Carolina University

It’s become a joke that the Green Bay Packers take defensive players in the first round. I don’t see that changing in the 2025 NFL Draft. Revel Jr. is an insane athlete. GM Brian Gutekunst has historically loved incredibly fast players. The corner room behind Jaire Alexander is weak. Eric Stokes hasn’t panned out, and Keisean Nixon has struggled at times. While the ACL injury could be a concern, this player would be a perfect fit for the team.

Baltimore Ravens: Nic Scourton Edge Texas A&M

On the one hand, many would expect Baltimore to take a cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, at this point in the mock draft, there simply isn’t one there. However, if quarterbacks don’t have time to throw the ball, the secondary doesn’t matter. The Raven’s pass rush is already ferocious and adds another high-quality piece.

Houston Texans: Tate Ratledge OG Georgia

It’s hard to watch Texans games. CJ Stroud is under constant duress, and his stats are pitiful because of it. The number one goal in the 2025 NFL Draft (and the offseason as a whole) should be to remake the offensive line. This team has a limited window before Stroud gets paid. If they fail to take advantage of it, they will have a more difficult time winning a Super Bowl. Ratledge is a day-one starter who can be an immediate upgrade on the offensive line.

Philadelphia Eagles: JT Tuimoloau Edge Ohio State

Two years ago, the Eagles seemingly had an endless well of pass rushers. Things change fast in the NFL. The talent has dried up due to trades, regression, or players leaving in free agency. Howie Roseman was aggressive in the making over the secondary last year, and now he focuses on the defensive line.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Walter Nolen DT Ole Miss

This is another pick that I’ve featured in other mock drafts. I like the fit a lot. Nolen hasn’t lived up to the potential of a former top recruit. Who better to unlock potential than Mike Tomlin? Furthermore, Casey Heyward is a great mentor as he enters the twilight of his career. What the team decides to do at quarterback will be interesting, but I don’t think they should take one here.

Minnesota Vikings: Nick Emmanwori S South Carolina

Minnesota needs some help in the secondary. They are relying on veterans who are playing well but history tells us their play will fall off a cliff soon. They need young talent in the 2025 NFL Draft. Emmanwori is a part of a Gamecocks’ defense that has been elite. As Harrison Smith and the rest of the secondary ages, Brian Flores needs other pieces to work with.

Washington Commanders: Abdul Carter Edge Penn State

What Washington does with their 2025 NFL Draft first round pick will be fascinating. On the one hand, they have Jayden Daniels and need to build an elite offense around him. On the other hand, the defense is still the weak point and will likely be the reason for their downfall later in the season. Carter is a quality edge rusher who can help bring some juice to the pass rush.

Buffalo Bills: Deone Walker DT Kentucky

The Bills defense has been impressive this season. No, they aren’t leading the league or an elite unit but they lost a ton of pieces in the offseason. Many analysts picked them as a prime regression candidate. Thanks to Josh Allen and quality coaching, the Bills are in the conversation of teams who could unseat the Chiefs. However, this isn’t a long term solution. Beefing up the defensive line is priority number one.

Detroit Lions: Tre Harris WR Ole Miss

I’ve been on the Lions getting another edge rusher in the 2025 NFL Draft, but here I have them thinking in a different direction. Jameson Williams has had a roller coaster of a career. When he is on the field, he can be electric. However, he has missed time due to suspension or injury in every season. His availability is in question. Amon-Ra St. Brown is a great slot receiver, but Harris would become a legitimate outside threat and add another wrinkle to this offense.

Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Simmons OT Ohio State

As I watch the Chiefs, one of the issues I see is the tackle position. Patrick Mahomes makes magic happen, but it is often because his offensive line has failed him. Simmons is done for the year because of injury. His lack of presence has had a profound effect on the Ohio State offense. Good teams make sure their offensive line is taken care of, and the Chiefs should take care of business at the end of the first round.

That’s the latest mock draft. It will be interesting to see how the top ten evolve over the last part of the season. With the Panthers and Giants set to face each other this week, there is guaranteed to be some shuffling. Stay tuned for more mock drafts every week as the season progresses.
